Get ready for the return of the World Esports Championship, an annual international event hosted by the International Esports Federation! Brace yourself for a showcase of exceptional skills and thrilling gameplay.

In the previous edition, teams from America, Europe, Asia, Africa, and Oceania battled it out in the championship finals held in Iasi, Romania. Sweden emerged as the World Champion, clinching victory amidst fierce competition.

The tournament also featured CS: GO for women, with the Netherlands securing the top spot, followed by Argentina and the United States. Pakistan claimed the championship title for Tekken 7, with The Philippines and Peru close behind. Iran’s team dominated in the eFootball category, followed by Japan and Mexico.

This year’s competition promises to be even more intense, boasting a groundbreaking $1 million prize pool. This historic payout will be distributed among the top 8 teams in each game title and category, elevating the championship’s prestige as gamers vie for ultimate Esports glory. Additionally, 16 PUBG teams will also get a share of the prize pool.

The World Esports Championship 2024 will take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, with over 130 countries registered for the national qualifiers. The finals are scheduled from November 11th to 19th, 2024.

The tournament will feature CS:GO, Dota 2, eFootball, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, and Counter-Strike 2.

In Dota 2, the championship format will include a group stage and playoffs. Sixteen teams advancing from national and regional stages will be divided into four groups. The group stage will feature round-robin matches, with the top two teams from each group advancing to the playoffs.

Regional qualifiers in Africa will be held online from June 10th to 19th, followed by Asia from June 20th to 30th, and Europe from July 6th to 25th.

Registration for Nigerian residents meeting age and eligibility requirements will open from March 19th to 28th, 2024. Highly skilled and competitive players are encouraged to apply for this opportunity to represent Nigeria and Africa on the global stage, with the chance to win prizes and forge valuable connections.
